Die Walküre
A spectacular opera experience in Pori in autumn 2026
On Friday, 11 September 2026, the Satakunta Opera Association (Sataooppera) will bring one of the most powerful masterpieces of the operatic repertoire to the Promenadisali in Pori: the first act of Richard Wagner’s Die Walküre.
This production is Sataooppera’s most artistically significant project of 2026 and a true showcase of the rising excellence of Finnish opera. The production brings Wagner’s intense music drama to life with a unique ensemble, in which the city’s own orchestra, Pori Sinfonietta, joins forces with some of the most exciting emerging artists of the younger generation in Finland.
The production is directed by the visionary Isa Kortekangas, and Pori Sinfonietta will be conducted by Mikael Loponen. The soloists are rising stars from the prestigious Mirjam Helin Academy: Johannes Pessi, Marjaana Ritanen and Martin Iivarinen.
