On the eve of International Women’s Day, Promenadisali in Pori will be filled with powerful female voices, big emotions and beloved songs!
Superwomen on Stage – An Ode to Womanhood features four outstanding vocalists: Emilia Koskinen, Miina Mikkonen, Sara Lindroos and Lilli Salo.
The concert celebrates womanhood, sisterhood and friendship through music that embraces sensitivity, strength and the contradictions of life. The evening’s programme takes the audience from Finnish favourites to international soul and pop classics and powerful ballads. The repertoire includes music made famous by Emma Salokoski, Kaija Koo, Chaka Khan, Anita Baker, Jessie J and Celine Dion.
The programme features songs such as Veden alla, Ain’t Nobody, Sweet Love, Never Enough and All by Myself. Alongside the solo performances, the singers will also perform duets and ensemble numbers, including songs from Rodeo, bringing together four distinctive voices.
The vocalists will be accompanied by a band featuring Juha Aitakangas (guitar), Seppo Tyni (bass), Jaakko Kotiniemi (drums), Mirka Dojan (piano), Gunu Karjalainen (trumpet) and Mika Kojo (saxophone). Minka Uusi-Kartano will also join the band as a guest saxophonist. Laura Puisto will perform as a backing vocalist.
The concert also offers an opportunity to do some good: €1 from every €26 ticket sold will be donated to Hope ry.
