Jussi Hakulisen laulut

Jussi Hakulinen’s most beloved songs come to life in acoustic arrangements performed by Markus Salo and musicians familiar from the Finnish band Yö.

Jussi Hakulinen was one of the most distinctive and moving songwriters in Finnish music. He penned many of Yö’s best-loved songs, including Joutsenlaulu and Rakkaus on lumivalkoinen – songs that have become an enduring part of Finland’s shared musical heritage.

The Jussi Hakulinen’s Songs tour, taking place in early 2027, celebrates Hakulinen’s exceptional songwriting. His songs will be performed with piano and guitar accompaniment, allowing the melodies, lyrics and stories behind the music to take centre stage.

The concert features vocalist Markus Salo, who has previously received acclaim for his interpretations of Yö’s music. He is accompanied by Mikko Kangasjärvi and Jari Latomaa, both familiar from Yö, who worked alongside Hakulinen for decades as arrangers and producers of his songs. Their long-standing collaboration offers a unique insight into the origins of the songs, their atmosphere and the stories behind them.

Jussi Hakulinen’s Songs is an evening of memorable melodies, cherished memories and Finnish songwriting – a tribute to an artist whose music continues to live on in the hearts of listeners.
