Artturi Aalto, winner of the Turku Cello Competition, joins Pori Sinfonietta as soloist in one of the most beloved works for cello, Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations. The piece combines Russian lyricism with the brightness and clarity associated with Mozart’s style. The programme also includes Dvořák’s Czech Suite, featuring lively influences from folk dances.

The 26-year-old Artturi Aalto has appeared as a soloist with, among others, Tapiola Sinfonietta, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Artistic Director of the Radalla Chamber Music Festival in Espoo.
